  • 01Material Technical Evaluation:
  • 02Conduct detailed technical evaluations and assessments of materials used in oil and gas operations, equipment spare parts.
  • 03o Review material specifications, product certifications, and test data to ensure that all materials meet industry standards (e.g., ASTM, API, NACE).
  • 04o Provide recommendations on material selection based on performance, environmental considerations, cost efficiency, and safety standards.
  • 05Material Preservation:
  • 06o Oversee and manage material preservation processes, ensuring materials are stored, handled, and maintained according to best practices and industry standards.
  • 07o Develop and implement preservation plans to protect materials from environmental factors (corrosion, moisture, temperature fluctuations) during storage and transit.
  • 08o Monitor and track the condition of preserved materials, ensuring that materials remain in optimal condition for use in operations.
  • 09o Train personnel in best practices for material preservation and ensure compliance with preservation procedures and industry regulations.
  • 10Inventory Management:
  • 11a Identify duplicate materials across inventory to optimize stock levels, reduce excess material, and avoid unnecessary procurement costs.
  • 12a Assist in reconciling material inventories by conducting audits and ensuring proper cataloguing of materials to minimize the risk of duplication.
Required qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Material Science, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in material engineering within the oil and gas industry, with a focus on technical evaluation, material preservation, and duplicate identification.
  • Strong knowledge of materials used in oil and gas operations, including metals (carbon steel, stainless steel, alloys), and other industry
  • specific materials.
  • Knowledge of industry standards and regulations related to material selection, preservation, and quality assurance (e.g., ASTM, API, NACE).
  • Familiarity with material preservation methods and best practices, including corrosion prevention and storage conditions.
  • Knowledge of ERP systems.
  • Excellent attention to detail, with a strong ability to identify and address issues related to material duplication and inventory management.
